Clay embarked on his legal career with a foundation in political science and government, receiving his BA from the University of Arkansas and graduating on the Dean's List, an early indicator of his academic prowess and dedication.

His legal education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law was distinguished by a cum laude honor, reflecting his rigorous academic commitment and legal aptitude. Clay's involvement in the Jessup Moot Court Competition Team, the Moot Court Board, and his service as a Bowen Academic Fellow exemplify his hands-on experience and competence in legal advocacy.

Prior to his role at Poynter Law Group, Clay's journey in law was marked by meaningful experiences as a Rule XV Law Student, where he honed his legal writing and research skills, and as a Law Clerk.
